2A modified stone is 2" and below. The stone has sand and dust mixed in to provide a thick compaction base. Standard paver patios call for a base of 2A modified stone 4 inches thick. Make sure to compact with a tamper every two inches. Driveways call for a base 10-12 inches thick.
Because of its dusty nature, 2A is fairly easy to dig and move with a shovel. Make sure to dump large loads on a tarp, the dust can diffuse into the ground in event of a rain storm.
We offer 2A modified stone in bag, bucket, full scoop, dump truck, and tri-axle quantities.

Most commonly 2B is used for driveway applications, shed bases, and drainage stones. This is the proper stone to be used in a French Drain. Other uses include base stone for retaining walls, as well as drainage stone behind retaining walls and under sheds. Use our geotextile filter fabric for drainage applications.
